
Thomas Sasse
Thomas is Managing Partner of oikon LAW and head of the Hamburg office. He specializes in International Commercial and corporate transactions for companies, investors and shareholders.
Thomas is a multilingual international commercial and corporate lawyer with experience in corporate finance, asset management, IT services, international arbitration and litigation. He advises the senior management of multinational corporate clients and financial institutions in complex international matters. Thomas was called to the German Bar in 1988.
Thomas studied law, Mandarin and Japanese and wrote his doctoral thesis on international commercial mediation in comparative law at law schools in Japan (Waseda), the USA (Harvard) and Germany (Freiburg). He is also a Commercial Mediator.
From 1990 to 2011, Thomas held managing director positions with global banks, Deutsche Telekom, IT and outsourcing companies in the world’s major financial centres in Tokyo, Singapore, Mumbai, New York City, London, Madrid, Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
Thomas advises the board of corporate clients and banks. He also engages in the application of the unified international law for the sale of goods (CISG) in India, in collaboration with the UNCITRAL.
In 2023 was called to the Senate of Economy Europe by the former Minister of Economics of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Walter Döring. He heads up the Senate of Economy Europe in Hamburg and northern Germany. He is also the co-initiator of the association “Future Europe”.
