Berlin/Munich, April 2023. With immediate effect, Thomas Sasse represents the commercial law firm oikon as Senator in the European Senate for Economic Affairs. The certificate of appointment was awarded during the Spring Convention of the Senate on March 29th in the House of the Federal Press Conference in Berlin by the Chairman of the Senate of Economy Europe, Dr. Walter Doring.
The special interest and commitment of lawyer and manager Thomas Sasse will in future advocate for pragmatic solutions in the commissions for the digital future, mobility and sustainable economy, climate protection and social affairs. “I am very honored by the appointment. I am happy to contribute my previous expertise to the commission’s work and look forward to successfully advancing new projects,” explains Thomas Sasse. In addition, membership in the Economic Senate is part of the oikon corporate responsibility strategy. “In the future we would like to participate more in social and economic policy solutions.”
The Economic Senate is made up of personalities from business, science and society who are particularly aware of their responsibility towards the state and society. The model is the traditional idea of senates in antiquity. Together, the members contribute to the practical implementation of the common good-oriented goals of sustainability in the sense of the eco-social market economy. Honorary senators such as Jean-Claude Juncker, Prof. Günther Verheugen, Prof. Klaus Töpfer, Prof. Jürgen Rüttgers and Rosi Gollmann, along with many other experts, are exciting sources of inspiration.
